I too am preparing to upgrade from 2.5.1 to 2.5.2. I have had Sentinel not long, since one of the 2.4.x's. I was doing a quick glance and noticed there was an edit in header.php that I didn't have. If I find anymore I will post.

Yes but it isn't obvious if you need to do it again when updating every single version. There are no instructions as to what if anything you need to edit for each increment.

im not saying instructions are great but the edits have to be done just once...
it always was...
but in the upgrade to 2.5.0 the java script part had to be removed...thats all...

Just to offer an additional idea. I will actually do a "diff" (using Beyond Compare 2, but you could even use Winmerge) of the new NukeSentinel distribution and the one I am currently running.. it highlights for me what has really changed and I can make the determination if anything chgd in the core edits.

The core edits do not change very often.

Unless I missed an edit or two last upgrade, it looks like the mainfile.php and header.php edits are different for this version.

I was aware that there were changes in this particular release, but like I said, it doesn't happen often (didn't say it never happened lol). Rarely will it happen with the patch levels.

Agreed it doesn't happen often, but the only way to check is to do diffs like you suggest. I think there have been some small changes this time.

My upgrade from 2.5.1 to 2.5.2 went well. I did not make any edits.

I am puzzled by the IP2Country update. I downloaded the .DIFF version of the latest country data. Here's what happened:

1) I backed up my database before (11.9 megs)

2) upgraded to 2.5.2 and imported .diff country tables via. phpMyAdmin

3) Backed up database again (11.0 megs)

Why would my database size be reduced by nearly 1 meg with this update, unless I overwrote my full country table data with a smaller file. Seems like the database would be bigger. Confused

had you optimized your tables prior to taking the original backup? If it had been a long, long time since you had done that, maybe it had that much to give back? Not sure, just was the first thought that had come to mind.

utssace, in the IP2Contry tables they dropped the country name as redundant so it is a smaller databaase now.
