Hi there, First I was using php nuke 7.9 but everywere I read don't do it. So now I installed rwsRavenNuke76_v2.02.02_FULL and everything seems to be working fine. Anyway I still have 2 question.
After installing the IP2COUNTRY Data into my database into the nuke__nsnst_ip2country table my database got upto 6.44 mb. Now this may sound strange but I am new to databases etc. Question: when I was using nuke without sentinel my databse still didn't even get upto 5 mb after using it for a year now with 50 subscribers. So the question is, how big can a database get before a server/provider says he your database is getting to big ? and second, to limit the size of the database would i not be smarter to write the IP2COUNTRY Data into a seperate file like a txt/csv or html file ? |

The maximum allowable size of your database will be depend on the company who hosts your site. For instance I'm with 1and1 and they limit the size to 100MB.
The speed of your site maybe affected as the database grows.
I'm by no means a database, or PHP expert, but I suspect if you locate the data anywhere else other than the database, it may take your site longer to access it. I suspect one of the experts here will be able to give you a more definitive answer.

If the database is designed and indexed properly, having more data shouldn't impact performance, especially as compared to using a text / csv file (I wouldn't recommend trying this - a lot of work for little or no benefit).
Normally, if you aren't using IP2Country, you don't need to install it, but there seem to be issues with NukeSentinel 2.5+ if IP2Country isn't installed. |

I have databases with hundreds of megs of data... no problem. Really IP2Country isn't that big a deal, depending on your host's SQL server, it should be able to handle it. Mostly it is load on the database server, not just the space, that you'll want to look into. My dedicated server is not sharing a database with anyone else, so it is really quite fast. |

IT looks like you can delete all the entries of IP2Country except for the IANA Reserved ones.
