How can I make it so Google can get into my site, such as other forum pages etc.??

I have Nuke Sent. installed. Laughing

If you have your forums restricted to only be viewed by registered users only Googlebot will not be able to index those pages. You would need to change the permissions so non-registered users could at least the view the pages.

A Sitemap is good way of helping Google know which pages you want indexing.

yeah about 3/4th of my forums are restriced to registered users.
can i make googlebot a registered user lol??

No.

Unless you modify the code to somehow recognize google and let it crawl regardless, you have to have the content open to ALL.

Personally, not sure the point as Google and the other search engines are there to bring new visitors to your site. They might be quite disappointed to find that these links simply bring them to some "Restricted" error message... Wink

I would agree.
If you go to your forum administration then the forum permissions (advanced view) you only need to change the 'View' to 'all' which means if you have done that to a registered only forum, only registered users can reply/quote/post new topic by anyone can read them.

Most of my forums are set up like this as it allows people and bots to read my forums but if they want to do anything else, they have to registered (helps keep the spammers away too).
