Hello,

I have added a news block to my site, [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ] and was wondering how i can remove the other news blocks from the home page. I have tried to de-activate the module but of course that removes all the news articles. I just want to be able to remove the default news blocks as they are duplicating what is in the block I have installed.

I believe if you go into administration, modules and fix the news module so that it's not in home it may do the trick for you. It's at least worth a try.

I have tried that but when I change to something else then I loose all the right side blocks. I do not know if this is supposed to be the case but it is happening. Is there a way to modify the file so I can have the news module in home but it not show the stories at the bottom of the page?

Well, I went in and manually changed the value in the db and it works for me.

You mean you set storyhome to 0?

I was thinking of that but there was no way to do it thru the admin screen.

The right blocks are controlled, I believe, by each module and whether it sets define index_file to true. Very few modules (news is all I can think of) set the right blocks on.

You might also want to check your theme.php for your theme, sometimes there can be code there that restricts whether the right blocks are displayed when specific modules are open.
