I am running 7.0 with Protector, Hackattempt, + 7.0 patches (i think i have all of them) but having a problem w/a basic issue issue CHMOD:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
As per a conversation that I had had some time ago on nukesecurity.com ; I was going to institute the strict CHMOD settings that was suggested with ALL FILES at 644 and ALL FOLDERS at 755.

In doing this; my folders and files are 'still' viewable. For example; when I CHMOD the Folder Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! to 755 when you go to that url it still shows the file in that folder.

What's my problem; I want the site as secure as possible and my temp fix was to just put blank html's in the folders to hide the files... this is obviously not the best route.

I would love some input on the best CHMODing to do and what I may be doing wrong.

Thanx for your assistance!
Miss Vicky

Normally the blank index.html is sufficient. I would just leave that.
