Log me in automatically with each visit

I did attempt several searches, but perhaps I missed a response to such question.

Currently, my users login and are remembered. However, they would like the checkbox, "Log me in automatically with each visit" so they don't have to remember to hit "Logout"

I am running phpnuke 7.8 with phpbb 2.0.18.

Can anyone point me to a manual or provide details as to what files and code need to be changed?

Do you mean 'log me OUT automatically'?
I may have seen something about this but I'll have to dig around.

The easiest way is in forum configuration to lower the session time.

No, basically what I want is to make it so that in order for a user to remain logged in after closing the browser, they would have to check the box, "Log me in automatically with each visit". This way, those who do not check this box would have to login again upon their next visit. Those who do check the box would already be logged in when returning to the site.

It works that way by default using a cookie, though it does time out after a period. That's why Guardian was asking if you wanted to automatically log OUT when closing the browser.

Yes, I would like it to automatically log you out, unless you select the checkbox. But my version doesn't seem to even have the checkbox.

Those that have it are using a mod - probably from phpBB.
