I did the test [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ]

the got the black screen that I was blocked permanantly

I'm using the latest ravenscript with sentinal 2.4.2pl5
Union blocker is set active, email, block, default page
write to htaccess is yes
block duration is permanent.
htaccess is writeable (777)
manually blocking is working ok

I was not logged in not as administrator nor as a user.
But nothing in htaccess and nothing in the db.
And I just returned to the site and was able to do everything and log in etc.

what might be wrong?

You could try updating to the latest version of NukeSentinel. I had this problem, but once I updated it worked fine.

hmm ok found the problem..

I expected that the distro from raven was complete and working but had to insert in the mainfile just after the <?PHP the following code.

It came from the Nukescripts site but I had to change the filename from sentinel.php to nukesentinel.php

Code:
if ($forum_admin == 1) {

   include("../../../includes/nukesentinel.php");
} elseif ($inside_mod == 1) {
   include("../../includes/nukesentinel.php");
} else {
   include("includes/nukesentinel.php");
}

After having inserted this code it works.. Razz
Might have missed this during the install of the ravens distro

My distro already has that in it, later on down. Are you using the mainfile.php file that came with the distro or did you try to update your own mainfile.php? You also have to be using at least the 2.9 (preferably 3.2) version of Chatserv's patches.

I used your distro and the mainfile.php which came with it. Used version
rwsRavenNuke76_v2.02.02_FULL.zip, which I downloaded a couple of days ago.
I have just installed this according to the installation notes and have not changed anything in scripts.
I have no idea about the Chatserv patches., assumed these are in there?

Yes, but it already has the needed code and works right out of the box. Something else is causing the problem and that code is masking it. Have you uninstalled any trace of any previous NukeSentinel(tm) installation? Removed everything from the admin folder, the admin/modules folder, and the includes folder?

Think I did, but the upgrade procedure is not quite clear on this.
I did not remove code from the standard files.
The funny thing is that it was a clean install at first and there it did not work. then I upgraded seninel and still had the problem.

I'm not sure if I deleted everything, but will do it again and reinstall the upgrade..

deleted all files. Did use the upgrade again>speedtype blank page..
Deleted all files not the db.
downloaded latest full version of sentinel
copied it to the server.
no need to upgrade the db
seems to work but does not write to the db or htaccess.
reinstalled the code in mainfile.php
and not working either anymore..
so done work to upgrade it although I had before, with the extra code a working system, now it does not work.
Where should I start to look..

OK think I got it, but it is puzzling.

Reinstalled a complete fresh distro. rebooted the computer (not the server but the client)
Did the abuse url (union) and got blocked. This time it was saved into the db and htaccess.

Think got the problem. If you have been logged in as administrator it seems still to remember somehow you are the administrator and does nto log anything although you get the black page.
I can now simulate the problem by logging in to the administrator fiddle around a bit, log out. and do the union attack. then it does not work.

pff ok sorry to have bothered you..
