Is there a way to block certain domains from user registration? My site keeps getting pounded by bots using mail.ru (russian duh). Unfortunately my security image has been bugged, so I can't use that as bot prevention. I've been hit like 20 times, all from that same domain.

None of my legit users will be registering from Russia, so I want to block ALL [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ] addresses from user registration.

Anyone know of a fairly easy way to do this? It's unfortunate that NukeSentinel doesn't have this feature. It would seem like a good idea (such as blocking hotmail, yahoo, etc if some place desired). Thanks for the help ahead of time. This will save me much aggravation.

The purpose of NukeSentinel is to block attacks. Registering for access is not generally considered an attack.

However, both the CNB Your Account module and phpBB have the ability to block certain email addresses. You could try using the phpBB forum configuration to prevent mail.ru domains from registering.

You could also import the IP to Country database for Russia into the 'banned ranges' part of Sentinel which should help prevent any Russian IP from viewing your site.

I checked phpBB and didn't see any feature like this. However, I installed CNBYA and it worked great!! I have been holding off on CNBYA, thinking it was a more difficult install (like tons of code hacks), but was happily surprised to see it was a breeze.

The mail domain feature works great.

Thanks for the help guys!!!
