Ok trying to install. I keep getting stuck on step 5, with this error:

Warning: mysql_connect(): Access denied for user: 'shoxxxxx_sxxxie@localhost' (Using password: YES) in /home/shoxxxxx/public_html/modules/gallery2/lib/adodb/drivers/adodb-mysql.inc.php on line 348
localhost: Access denied for user: 'shoxxxxx_sxxxxe@localhost' (Using password: YES)

Typically, the first step is to create your database.

Login to your control panel and click on the database manager.

1. Create your database.
2. Create your DB user and password next.
3. Finally add the user you just made to the empty database you just created.

Then when you run the instalation script, the fields should look as follows:

db host = localhost
db name = username_whatever
db user = username_whatever
db pass = whatever

Please note that the password is the only field that does not require the "username_" in front of it.

I seem to have a database in modules:
Edit Delete 47 gallery2 gallery2 1 0 1 0

Database and pass would be the same as for nuke and mysql right?........or wrong and I need to add myself again in that database?? oh don't see anywhere to do that.

I think I am entering the correct info into the fields?? Nuked Gallery says I have to get this installed before I run the integration....maybe I shouldn't have put it into nuke modules till after it's installed??

Well, that error is cleary a security error. One of the following would normally be the cause.

- Database name is incorrect. Make sure it is prefixed with USERNAME_ .
- Database username is incorrect. Make sure it is prefixed with USERNAME_ .
- Password is incorrect.
- Having a blonde moment ROTFL (soory - couldn't resist)

If you can't resolve this, I'll take a look Wink

Well apparently I am having several of them Bang Head

Database type: Mysql (all versions)
DB Hostname: localhost
DB Username: shoblah_shblahe
DB Password: zzzzzz
DB Name: gallery2
Table Prefix: g2_
Column Prefix: g_

OK so I tried USERNAME_shoshone_shonie and now it kicked me back to authenticate again.....

Ok I don't get it..........it can't be that hard! I've tried every combination of user name pass that I can think of and none of them are working.

Are you sure that you attached the correct username to the correct database in MySQL/cPanel?

What is your nuke database name?
I notice in your last post you are trying to use
DB Name: gallery2
If you only have one database then this would not be correct - use the same info from your nuke/config.php file except for the prefix which would seem ok how you have it.

Bleg.......ok I changed that, didn't work. Changed the prefix to nuke_,then nuke_module_ then to nuke_module_gallery2...........none worked.

But if it's not connecting to the data base, isn't that moot? It can't get there to read it?

Yes you are correct but I was working on the principle that it might have been the DB name (being incorrect) causing the none connection.
If you are using the same user/pass dbname combination as your nuke site then it must be something else - as your nuke site is clearly working fine Wink

I am not familiar with this module and have not used it. I am just about the hit the hay and have a funeral tomorrow but if you are still stuck then, I would be happy to take a look at it if no one else has by then.

I just looked at your ftp and you haven't created a config.php file for gallery yet. Don't you think you should?

You were changing the config.php-template. You needed to copy gallery2/install/config.php-template to gallery2/config.php, which I have done for you. Now, try it again. Gallery usually makes this for you during installation. I'm thinking you might have missed a step, but try it.

While trying to install Gallery2.0.2 I encoutered this error:
Quote:
Warning: The exec() function is disabled in your php by the disabled_functions parameter in php.ini. You won't be able to use modules that require external binaries (e.g. ImageMagick, NetPBM or Ffmpeg). This can only be set server-wide, so you will need to change it in the global php.ini.

All other items report "Success"

Two questions:
1. Can I change this with a custom php.ini file?

2. If so what do I put in the php.ini file?
