themes hiding banners

ok. heres the gist. both of my sites use themes from lorkan themes. ive already posted a message on their boards saying the themes dont support banners. when my sites were using the newer versions of nuke with the ads() bit, all i had to do was put in 'echo ads(0);' and it worked. but now that im back on 7.6, i have to use $showbanners and im stuck with banners not working. ive checked the source and the ad code is showing where its supposed to. it just doesnt show on the site anywhere. any ideas?

Well naturaly i cant view all but my theme uses showbanner also and never fails.
but first you should fix the following.....
looking at your source shows style type="text/css even before your html tag.
that should be in your style sheet.
But at [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ] should the banner show in the header ?
I dont see enough space for it...

on simmersquarterly.com, it goes above the page and will displace the page when it actually shows. i had the banners working on both sites before when they were updated enough to use the ads(0) system. but i have since downgraded to 7.6 for security concerns so i have to use $showbanners and now they dont show.

well its hard to tell how or why ,but im not gonna speculate on that..
Even in your source i dont see any banners.
So the problem is in the code.
That would be a nice search.. Sad

nvm. just grabbed some code out of an older theme:

   include("banners.php");


}

and put that in place of $showbanners. both sites work fine.

The include banners.php was gone ?
