Now that is a first, a few things to check are the cookie setting for the forum and making sure gzip_compress is off, if you still have the converted forums on the nuke site pm me a url and i'll take a look, if possible create a temp superuser or admin with access to the forums.

I forgot to mention in my details that I did ensure that gzip_compress in the forum config was off prior to conversion.

Since I already restored my database from backup, I'll go ahead and run another backup, re-setup nuke and do the transfer. If I understand this process correctly after doing it twice already (with the same result both times) the transfer.php code doesn't really touch the standalone phpbb tables (other than copying them) so my users shouldn't notice any changes on the old forum while we do this, correct? *sweat*

Oh, also, what would I be looking for in the cookie settings? Making them identical to the old forum or something like that?

I'll get it set up and fire off a PM with some info for you ASAP. Thanks a lot ahead of time.

It's been a few weeks and through further digging, I'm still coming up empty handed. Does anyone have any ideas?

I'm kinda of mixed up here...any help would be great.

I have backup of my phpbb forums, that I downloaded through the forum admin panel because I dont have access to the phpadmin or sql for where the forums are being hosted...

What I want to do is use my old phpbb forum information and apply it to my newly installed phpnuke7.6RV now that i have my own hosting.

Where I'm confused is where I should upload the entire backup to? Do I upload it to the same database where my phpnuke tables are stored or do I create a new database and store the phpbb tables there...

Ok well here's what i've done since my post...
I uploaded all the tables and information from my back up to the same database as my nuke tables, so now i have nuke_etc. tables and phpbb_etc.. tables in one database...Now i'm not sure if this is what i was suppose to do...if not please stop me lol...

You're missing some fields for BBToNuke 2.0.19
Code:

ALTER TABLE nuke_users ADD COLUMN user_login_tries smallint(5) UNSIGNED DEFAULT '0' NOT NULL;
ALTER TABLE nuke_users ADD COLUMN user_last_login_try int(11) DEFAULT '0' NOT NULL;

You really needed to run the database upgrades on your database to bring it up to 2.0.19 prior to trying to move the tables. That would have been easier and smoother. However, if that was the only error you encountered, then do as Evaders states and the transition should be easy.

Ok well i'm posting here again because I was never able to get it working properly I was still having trouble with users loging in. So i'm starting over now that i have some time.

Can you explain to me how i can upgrade a database backup if all I have of my old forum is the backup.sql file that I downloaded from the Admin Panel.

I tried installing just a phpbb forum version 2.0.19 and then loading the tables with my backup file however that was not succesful either I was getting login problems. So im really not sure how it is that I'm suppose to upgrade this single backup file that I have.

Get the bbtonuke upgrade scripts from Chatserv's site and run then one by one from your version to the current version.

I want to do this EVER so badly, as I spent many hours setting up my original phpbb forums, but this whole process seems a little to shoddy for my taste, especially with my VERY limited knowledge of sql.

I've tried comprehending the instructions to the point where i feel comfortable I could accomplish every step on my own, but I'm still skeptical, as many assumptions were made.

The first hurdle is that my phpbb forums is on one mysql database, and my nuke install is on another. I've read that if I export the phpbb database (after backing up), that I can then import it into the nuke database. That I can do.

The second hurdle is that I don't know how to make all those changes that are required to the sql tables (steps like 2 through 6).

If I could get a 'procedure for dummies' I'd be very grateful. I'm not going to attempt the transfer until then, as I want to avoid causing errors for my current users.

This is the last version I worked with. Follow the instructions at the top and run this from the directory of you phpNuke site where the config.php is located.

This was your first post with the conversion script. Of course i removed the script to not fill the forum duplitating the data.
