Hi,
I was trying to fix an email verification preocess and followed these directions:
-----------------------
Quote:
Make sure that nuke Admin=>Preferences=>SiteURL is pointing to the directory where config.php is stored. Use the Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! prefix (http://www.somewhere.com or Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login!

Make sure that nuke Admin=>Forums=>Configuration=>DomainName is pointing to the directory where config.php is stored. Do NOT use the Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! prefix (www.somewhere.com or Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login!

-------------------

when I went into admin/preferences, I changed my site url from Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! -- to: Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! (adding the subdirectory). Now, I can't access my site, the admin, or anything.

I checked admin.php, and it is the correct url that I've been using as below:
------
Quote:
// Uncomment the following block of code after editing the next line to match your site domain
$domainname = "www.dweebcabal.com";
if ($_SERVER['SERVER_NAME'] != $domainname ) {
echo "Access denied";
die();
}

----------

How can I fix the admin/preferences/site url using ftp?
Or other methods?

Thanks

It worked. Thank you so much.

How can I fix the register verification email to add the subdirectory "main" to the email link for new users?

Everytime I add the sub, it doesn't work (as my problem above happens)

OR,
Can I add instructions for new registrations to add the "main" subdirectory manually when they paste the url?
Where can I cange my message they read?

I have never used a subdomain for the registration mail I´m not sure why this not works, because when you change your nukeurl for example: Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login!

The link in the email is correct like

'http://mysite.com/under/modules.php?name=Your_Account&op=activate&username=blahblah

I think it should also work with a subdomain and a correct link is better instead of instructions.

You would think so, but it didn't.
When I added the sub, the site shut down.
The link in the verification email does not add the sub "main" -- it just says: Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! instead of dweebcabal/main/modules.
I did change the url in the Forum/Configuation site url using the 'main' sub, and no ill effects so far.

Everything else seems to work fine however.

Hmmm.

I appreciate your time and effort.
Thanks Susann
