Before activating HTTPAuth you must define the passwords for your admins in the Admin Auth List in Sentinel.

If you are currently locked out due to setting the HTTPAuth to yes before doing the above instructions, open your database in PHPMyAdmin and edit the http_auth field within the nsnst_config table so that it has a zero for the config_value. This will allow you access so that you can correctly define your admin passwords for HTTPAuth

The reason that you are getting the pop up over and over again is because you haven't "set" your admin details. If I understand you correctly, at this point you are unable to get into your Nuke admin panel because the pop up is not accepting your username and password, correct?

If this is indeed the case you will need to access your Nuke database using PHPmyAdmin so that you can edit the http_auth field within the nsnst_config table so that it has a zero for the config_value.

Once you have done this you should now be able to access your Nuke admin panel without the pop up authentification appearing.

I reccomend that at this point you clear your browser cache and cookies, then return to your site and log in as the God admin.

Now you will need to "set" your admin details. To do this click the Sentinel icon in the Nuke admin panel. You should have an option to "Scan for New Admins", click it. Once you have done that, click the link that says "Admin Auth List". On that screen you will have the option to "set" each admin account that you want to allow access to the admin features of Nuke, you will need to provide a password and decide whether you wish to make any or all accounts "protected". Once you have done that you can now reactivate HTTPAuth.

Hope this explanation helps. Smile

Don't use the .htaccess and .staccess <sigh> I don't know why this is so confusing but I will try to write up a tutorial on it. You do NOT need to use those files to use HTTP Authorization. You only need those with CGI Authorization. Although you do need an empty or existing .htaccess file.

You can download the userguide sentinel it will look like the Admin1 image But under the bottom it says this

Admin Auth: You MUST set ALL admin passwords before activating HTTPAuth or CGIAuth!
htaccess Path:
Normally: /home/xxx/public_html/tribes/.htaccess
File does not exist or is not correctly CHMODed.
staccess Path:
CGIAuth Setup

File does not exist or is not correctly CHMODed.

Start over with what CurtisH told you to do. Then, use an empty .htaccess chmod'd to 666. In the NukeSentinel .htaccess path field type .htaccess. Leave the .staccess field blank.
