security code when you go to log in dont display?????

Also members are coming up as com as country??????

Need a quick fix

ok, the Analysis takes the flag from the last bit of the persons ip addes like mine is .co.uk aka uk flag

BUT

ppl on my site come up as .com .net ip but live in the uk???

is there anything i could do to fix this?

The security code displays just fine for me. You would need to add and IP2COUNTRY routine of somekind. NukeSentinel uses its own but you could probably adapt it to look up your member's IP. There are probably other solutions out there too.

The .COMs are United States IP's. If you want to display the countries correctly, you need to add the IP2C db option to MSA, as Raven said.

This will give you all the info you need:
[ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ]

Once you install IP2C, you can go into your sql db and drop the COM table, and it will disappear from your login block. You can drop the generic ORG, NET, et cetera, tables too, but keep the MIL table.

If you need extra flags, I have them over here:

However, I think Maty added these to the distro now. All depends on how old your MSA download is... Wink

ok, install that that fixed 75% of them

But some still dont work even tho the demo on

"http://ip-to-country.webhosting.info/node/view/36"

finds the users ip to country fine???? any idears?

i also got and installed the matty script that uses the ip to country database

Also 1 last note why does the users currently online stick even though there not on anymore??

Hrm... not quite sure I understand what you're mean, but...

When you see '???' in your results, that's because the IP doesn't match with any existing country code in the IP2C db, and/or you don't have a flag for that country.

If it's simply a matter of not having a flag, that's easy to fix. Just add the appropriate flag[s] to your site.

However, AFAIK, once an IP gets enetered into YOUR MSA sql db as undecipherable, you have to fix it manually, using phpMyAdmin, or whatever. I've had this happen several times, in the past, while upgrading to a new version of MSA. Whoever 'sneaks' in there between the installation of MSA and IP2C usually has to be fixed...

Anyway, it appears to be working now, from the looks of your home page. It's probably just a matter of going into your db and doing some 'housecleaning' to get rid of the offending entries.

but i only know basic database...
i dont know what to look for to fix the users sticking,

if its linked..... the forum displays new posts but when u read 1 and go back to the topic main page all the other new posts are saying read????

MSA is built on top of Nuke, and PHP-Nuke is slow to respond to ppl 'not being there'. LoL! I guess that's the best way to describe the situation.

Who-is-Where, for instance, detects guests leaving, the second they are gone, but it takes them a while to disappear from PHP-Nuke. Conversely, members disappear from PHP-Nuke immediately, but tend to linger on Who-is-Where.

Example: On my site, Who-is-Where will show, say, 125 guests online, but PHP-Nuke will show 185. PHP-Nuke will show 0 members online, but Who-is-Where will show 2. It's just the way they're scripted. They NEVER match.

Do you mean 'back' as in clicking the 'back' button on your browser? If so, then your browser will read the page from your cache, e.g. the 'old' page.

What I usually do is click on the breadcrumbs above the post, after I've read them. That way, the index page is 'refreshed' and indicates which posts I've read. Either that, or I just hit the 'back' button, and keep it 'in my head'... Wink

However you go back, through the back button or click on the main forums the "new post" image dissapears

I wouldnt actuall mind if it was the other way round and didnt say youve read them when you have, at least you dont have to scroll down the page looking for date and time.

Either way, its mothers were talking about, they cant seem to remember anything

Ah, okay! I thought you were saying that it was NOT marking the ones that you've read as being read. LoL!

Hrm... well, I haven't tackled that question for a long time. I think it has to do with the cookie session length setting in the phpBB config, but I cannot remember off the top of my head.

Maybe someone else will chime in with an answer for you...

Change the settings in the phpBB admin panel
Logout of your site as both a user and an admin
Delete all cookies from your browser

I thought it wasnt that as i had stuff in all boxes but it worked fine in my last forums,
did it just to be sure and it fixed the prob,
must have been the "::" in the cookie domain box
learn something new everyday eh

Wanna have a shot at my last enquiry?
i set 4 topics to show on homepage somtimes it shows 2 others 4????
