Email notification on each new post and news story

My users want to be notified via email anytime there is a post in the forums or a new story added. Is there a way to do this? I know that they can go into their profile and select to be notified when there are replies to THEIR posts, but these folks want an email ANYTIME there is activity. Can anyone offer a solution?

I imagine that in theory you could look at the code behind the current one - where they are notified whenever one of their posts is added, and modify it to comment out any where clause that might say something to the effect of where userid = their id. That way it should, for whatever strange reasoning behind why they would want it that way, notify them for every single post that gets posted.

Just a thought.

There is a BBtoNuke mod that adds a "watch this forum" link to the viewforum page, similar to the "watch this topic" link on viewtopic. Further on, this mod changes the structure of email bodies, now including the post text, the name of the poster etc. in the email text. There are different email texts for watched topic, watched forum new topic and watched forum reply.
