Restricting forum members to certain forums.

I run a clan gaming site. [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ] based on a WW2 FPS.

What I want to do is when we have "soldiers" who go AWOL for a couple months, I want to restrict them to a forum I created called "The BRIG".

When they come visit the site again all I want them to see is The "BRIG" and maybe the Adjutants Office.

This way they know they are in trouble and are about to get booted out for inactivity.

How do I do this without impacting any of my public forum goers.

I have looked at single user permisions and group permisions but all my general "public" forums are still viewable by a test account.

You could create a private forum that appears only for members of a AWOL or BRIG group and make it appear first, but the public forums would still be displayed. You could also make all the other forums accessible only to non-AWOL groups, but that would prevent anonymous / public users from accessing anything.
