I completed the install and modified the files for a 2.8 patch. I can access my forums admin section fine.

IF I put the:

Code:
define('ADMIN_FILE', true);

in the admin.php file, I can access the admin portion of phpnuke. I CANNOT however access the admin portion of Sentinel. I receive the 404 Page Not Found error.

If I remove the above code, I cannot even access my admin.php file. I have reverted back to 2.2.0 for now until I can figure out what I have done wrong.

Any suggestions?

Ok, I found the solution. For some reason the link in the PHP-Nuke Admin page isn't correct. After a default install the link shows up as:
Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login!

it should be:
Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login!

I substituted the admin/case/case.nukesentinel.php and the admin/links/links.nukesentinel.php from the 2.2.0 version and now it works fine.

I also was using the wrong Patched 2.8 post. Users need to use this one:

You can add global $admin_file; to your admin/case/case.nukesentinel.php file and your admin/links/links.nukesentinel.php file to sure the problem. I've corrected this in the download packs already Smile

After putting the code $admin_file='admin'; in config.php and re-d/ling and re-u/ling 2.2.1 admin files from BobMarion's revision I now have two NukeSentinel entries in my admin area, both point to NS 2.2.1 admin areas and both work. The remaining problem behind this, I assume, is that the mainfile.php code

if (defined('FORUM_ADMIN')) {
@include_once("../../../includes/nukesentinel.php");
} elseif (defined('INSIDE_MOD')) {
@include_once("../../includes/nukesentinel.php");
} else {
@include_once("includes/nukesentinel.php");

doesn't 'take', I keep getting told to put back the old mainfile code from 2.1.3.

Check to make sure you have removed all the old sentinel files and only have nukesentinel files. The filenames changed for clarity which is most likely the cause of the issue you are having.

OK I'll do this. Thanks.
