Delay in user disconnection (user_info block)

This one is annoying, and am getting many complaints about it from users.

When a user exits the site by using log off, there's no problem.
The problem starts when a user closes his IE or moves to another site. it takes about 5-20 minuts for the site to remove the user from the online users list under the user_info block.

Is there a fix for that? Where can I reduce the timeout for removing users from the list?

well most will agree on this so i suggest not to change it.
i did it to but it doesnt makes that big difference...
before i changed to the patched version i think it was the mainfile,but as i said....the result wasnt that great so i changed it to what it was...
