Having spent the last week and a half on the road, I was punished by having to use dial-up Evil or Very Mad . I suffered painfully as my pages loaded over a 50.6 connection with all the images. I feel for any of you that still use dial-up - truly I do. I have added 2 themes that may help. Let me know. I will be sprucing the ExtraLite up a little, but you won't be plagued by having to load all those images!

I wouldnt have thought 40kb of images would have taken too long on 56k. Confused
Always a good idea to have some modem friendly themes though.

There's like 80 of them on the home page and the flash banner hung bout 80% of the time and just never finished loading. I ended up killing the page.

I guess all the other stuff soon mounts up. News icons, banners and all. The theme itself only carries 40kb of images so on its own its fast on 56k.

At last! Well done Raven.

Where I am I can only connect at between 26 and 28k and some sites just wont load for me, so I give up.

We wont get faster connections here til our phone providers lay more cables in about a years time, so we're stuck with slow loading pages.

It's a living nightmare when I have to update my site. lol

Getting to the point where us dialup users are going to have to pay premiums to access no chrome websites lol!

Raven the Xtralite is faster and the fiapple is a little faster.

I'm going with fiapple as it's more familiar with the links, I couldnt see the link to My Account in Xtralite, but maybe that was me being dim.

Thanks Raven ((((hugs))))

It should help a lot, because it's terrible on some sites waiting for the pages to load, you could go get a weeks shopping in town and they still wouldn't be loaded when you got back rofl

lol @ Six
