I am going to install Sentinel and wonder if protector is really needed once I do this.

I really don't use a lot of the functions PS provides anymore and it seems that Sentinel has stronger development.

NukeSentinel is designed to give maximum protection w/o the overhead. Protector offers IP tracking and some other functions that are available as add-ons. I am not attacking Protector at all. But, I can assure you that v2 of NuksSentinel is all of and more than enough to protect yo at maximum strength. No brag - just fact Wink

Help me figure out why I can't get .htaccess in the "Clicke blocker settings" to show up as 'yes or no'. I did the CHMOD 666 thing and added the blank line.

I am doing this in the add on domain.

I removed the Protector System a little while back and am just using Sentinel now. I love it!

Just a thought, check your tables in mysql because I used Protector before Sentinel was available, and when I switched to Sentinel, Protector had left one field in the database which was screwing things up. Sorry but I can't remember exactly what it was now, but something like readminblocker.

I just unistalled Protector thinking it would take all it's bits with it, but it hadn't.

Chatserv found it and deleted it for me when I was having problems recently, and it was that old fragment of Protector that was causing them.

Sorry I can't remember the exact name of the d*** thing. But I'm sure if you check thru you'll see it lurking in there.

I removed protector manually. Just used phpmyadmin to remove the tables.

I hope protector didn't add anything to other nuke tables.

I believe Muffin is correct. You have an extra field in nuke_authors table that you should remove for safety and compatability.

Sure enough. I removed the field 'radminblocker' from the nuke_authors table.

That's the one, sorry I couldnt remember the name, but Chatserv removed it for me as it was causing problems.

I'm having all kinds of problems now. I don't know if it is protector related now or not.

In your account then your info it won't take me to my info page. Just resets to your account home. Bang Head

I had lots of problems after Protector came off. I'm not clever enough to advise on your problem though.

Hey you'll be getting the same custom title as me soon 'Paranoid' lol

Have you done this in Your Account's index.php file? That should fix it I think. (It's in the README file in the Sentinel download folder)

Quote:

In Your Account's index.php file you will find 4 placements of:
getusrinfo($user);
if (($userinfo[username] != $cookie[1]) AND ($userinfo[user_password] != $cookie[2])) {

You should replace it with:
cookiedecode($user);
getusrinfo($user);
if ((is_user($user)) AND ($userinfo[username] == $cookie[1]) AND ($userinfo[user_password] == $cookie[2])) {

That fixed the your info part. I still can't change themes.

Hmmm... not sure why the themes problem is happening. Hopefully someone more experienced can help out now.

Make sure you have applied all the manual fixes from the README file. Check your server error logs to see if there are any messages there.

I opened back up the readme file and double checked things. I have made the javascript, header and your account changes.

I even removed a mod just in case it is part of the problem since it wasn't that well written.
