Got a problem with a shout box I`ve installed.
The name of the module is "Shout_Box_v8.5.2"
I`ve uploaded all the files but I cant see any text in the shoutbox. I can go to the admin portion of the site and am able to view all shouts there and can change backgrounds to the shout box block but I cant see any text in that block.
Well, only one way i can. I try a shout using my user which is registered on my site. When I make the shout it tells me "Note: Cloning a nickname is not allowed." But where this is in my block has a white background with no text. I must click and drag across this area to see the message I just told you about.
That is the only thing that has ever shown up after making several shouts.
Would this be the Javascript (shoutbox.js)not being in the right folder?
Right now it is in the root folder. The same folder that has cobfig.php in it.
I`ve messed with the themeing tab, but all that changes is the colors in the shout box admin page.
The color of the block background is black.

I dont think I did. I`m sure it works with PHPNuke though.
I must have been wrong but I figured most php scripts would work with RN. I just thought what makes RN different was the added security it adds with Nuke Sentinel.
I do have regular PHP blocks working on this site so I figured most nuke scripts would work fine.
Guess I`ll dig up my RN shoutbox and give that a shot.

Turns out I was using the right shoutbox. Everything that has to do with the shoutbox I installed last night is exactly the same as what I just installed from my RN download.
I uninstalled the shoutbox I installed last night. The install text was exactly the same thing that I found with my RN download.
And as expected, the shoutbox was working the same as I posted last night.
Now I have no idea what is wrong here.

It could be a JavaScript conflict. Is this a site that is online that we could look at?

Look for the textfile Troubleshooter, which contains advice how to get Shoutbox to work.

Hmmm, now a day after messing with it, it seems to be doing something it didnt do before.
I`ll explain in a bit.
First I want to see if I can actually get it going.

Ok, seems to be working now. Sure didnt the last time I worked with it.
But one more small problem.
It is set to allow unregistered users to be able to post.
When I use my logged in username, I get this message...
"Note: Cloning a registered nickname is not allowed."
Do I have something set up wrong?

I looked over the troubleshoot guide and it had no information on my problem.
Posting with a name other than myself, who is registered, works fine. But I post when Im logged in and now I get "_NOCLONINGNICKS"
Also as you can tell I seem to be getting a problem that is covered in that guide. It is this problem...
"Problem: Text in Shout Box admin area, block, or module look like this: _SHOUTTEXT"
I have looked over the folder structure and I believe I have it correct.
But this doesnt seem to bear any effect on my not being able to shout when I`m logged in.

when you see text such as _SHOUTTEXT it means you have missing language definitions. Are you using English or another language?

I'm not sure I would choose to allow anonymous shouts in the first place, but I would first try logging in using another browser and see if you are able to shout, if so it may be a cookie/cache issue with your browser.
