I have made Forums the homepage, but have found that because the main url is now the forum, you only see new posts when the url has:

/modules.php?name=Forums

Has anyone heard of issues when Home is also Forums?

Is there a way to force 'Home' to redirect to /modules.php?name=Forums

So the cookies work and show new posts etc.?

Have you tried to change the script path in phpbb admin to / to see if that fixes the cookie issue? You will also want to delete your existing cookies to test it.

Try setting it to / and see if the cookies work. You will need to delete your cookies to test it. It my not work, just an idea.

Should it have a / on the end?

ie. .yourdomain.com/

Because I have another weird thing happening.

When you are on domain.com the forum info shows you not logged in (ie. A msg to log in to view private msgs etc. - but users ARE logged in)

Then when you go to yourdomain.com/modules.php?name=Forums it then shows you as logged in

why would this be?

I'm also not sure what I should be putting in:

Domain name
and
Script path

Now that /modules.php?name=Forums is also the 'Home'

Anyone have an idea of what may be causing this?

A cookie issue I might be able to rectify?

This seems to only happen once someone has visited the website.

IE.

The first time an already registered user visits the website on website.com (with forum as 'Home') the forum looks as though they are not logged in. The horizontal bar accross the top of the forum informs them to 'Log in' but the User Info block on the side of the website shows them as logged in (and they are).

If the user then visits website.com/modules.php?name=Forums it will show them as logged in

If they then click 'Home' (which is the forums, but the url returns to website.com) then it will continue to show them as logged in.

It appears that only the first time you go back to the website.com the forums appear to not SHOW that you are logged in, even though the website knows you are.......
