I'm looking for something to put on either the main site as a block or an addon on the forum.

My members like to see their birthday posted up, and the Admins can't remember everyone's birthday to post it on the forum, so is there anything available for either phpnuke v7 or a hack or addon for the fourm (phpbb2.Cool please?

I've taken a look at the birthday hack and you have to edit some mysql tables and I'm not experienced enough to do that, so I'll leave that one.

I've looked on Nuke Resources and there's nothing about Ephemerids, although I have put a persons birthday in there for today, not quite sure how you use Ephemerids.

Is there somewhere I can read up on it?

Sorry to be a pain.

Make sure the block is activated.

Thanks Raven I've sorted it and activated the block.

One question, if I enter all the birthdays in this year, do I have to enter them all in again for next year or does the Ephemerids change itself to 2005?

Ephemerids will roll over to the next year unless you go in and comment out the eyear in the ephemerid block. For birthdays, it should not matter whether it rolls over or not, unless you want to note that someone was born today June 15,2004.
You would just need to go in and add birthdays as requested, coz they gonna have it again next year right??
You might also look at 4ncalendar. I've been real pleased with it, and it's very easy to install and use.

4ncalendar??? oooh, I'm going to have a look at that too.

There is a birthday block for Event Calendar. It works great and shows all of the Birthdays for the current month. You set a nuke topic to Birthdays, and viola, you then choose that topic as a calendar event! Depending how you have the Event Calendar configured your users can input their own birthdays.

imho, Event Calendar is not an easy solution because it requires authors table modifications. But otherwise it works great.

I don't think there is a birthday block in 4n--not sure--I've more than i can keep up with---
but you could let each member set their birthday as an event. i use mine for posting powwows
