Ok, I finally seem to have managed to install it properly..

Now I'm receiving this:

ERROR:

You do not have administration permission for module "mreviews"

How do I get this?

I tried adding a new account as Super User and noticed this:

Unknown column 'radminreviews' in 'field list'

Does anyone know how I can add the God Admin permission to mreviews module?

Sound like an install issue related to the other issue you posted about.

pan, based on the error message, I am pretty sure that mReviews you have is not compatible with *nuke versions above 7.5 I think it was. RN's base is 7.6.

you are either going to have to code this to work with 7.6 and above, or get someone to do it. Unfortunately, the moderators and admins here are most likely far too busy to do this. I think you posted in the For Hire forum which is probably your best bet.

OH MY F'ING GOD.

Wasn't there a post about ravennuke having a working version of this in it?

pan, you have been pushing for someone to help you with mReviews for quite a few days now. I don't recall anyone having told you from the staff here that they were aware of mReviews being compatible. Until I saw your error message, I hadn't a clue because I have never had a need for this module and never envision needing it.

To answer your specific question, RavenNuke(tm) has NEVER distributed mReviews with it. EVER. So, not sure where you got that impression.

If the community is "quiet" on a particular module, you have to take that to mean that the community is not familiar or interested in that given module and so that is why you are not getting the level of support you think you should be getting on this. Sorry, but that is just the way an open source / free community works.

I wish you luck in your search for answers on this module.

Why didn't someone just tell me it wasn't compatible with ravennnuke ages ago? It would of saved all this going on and on..

Jesus H christ.......

Maybe it was that?

Or this:
[ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ]

MReviews advanced module is a exclusive reviews system with unlimited category nesting, sub-reviews, multiple images, and many other important features coded to work inside RavenNuke v2.x+. It might work with regular phpnuke website.

So how the hell do you get reviews with subsections so they can be sorted?

Is there some other module I am unaware of?

Because I would REALLY like to install it.

It is essentially up to the developer, salman, to make it compatible with RavenNuke. This is basically him saying it is.... we have not tested nor validated such.

We do not test or validate every single addon that claims to be compatible. We just don't have the time. Sorry for the all the issues you are having, but you either need to get the developer or find someone to look at salman's code for you.

I understand your frustration getting this to work but if you can't afford to hire a coder to fix it for you then you must use extra patience trying to work thru the problem yourself with what guidance you can. The people here do this stuff in spare time for free that professional coders charge $40 per hour and up to do. So the time they give you is very generous and you should keep that in mind.

I downloaded a copy of the mReviews mentioned and although I haven't installed it yet at quick glance of the code I don't see major compatibility issues the code just likely needs some clean up and reworking of some functions. But again I only opened one file and quick glanced. I imagine no more than 8 hours would be involved in resolving it.

I saw the code too and i agree with you.
Pan I'm sorry i can't be any help here , but doesn't RN have a review module?
If you have some (free)time , make the modifications yourself to fit your exact need. You can still ask the community about content distributed here.

Dude.... I had posted a fixed admin file for mreviews. I just tested it on a fresh install of ravennuke 2.30.1 and a fresh install of mreviews and it worked fine.
http://www.trickedoutnews.com/nuken/mreviews.zip

Just replace the index.php in the modules/mreviews/admin/index.php with the mreviews/admin/index.php in the download.

I tried what you said and it didn't work.

Now all of a sudden I install for the 50th time and it appears to partly function.....

There's an assload of bugs but i'll see how I go..........

Hmmm... I haven't had any bugs with it. Here is a download for the module I have been using. It does not include the install files or images just the module files....

yea well i installed it but didn't use your index file. i used the exact same install on a previous attempt and this time it worked..

there's a couple screw ups like not being able to update certain things (ie. the topic picture).

it's the most frustrating module i've ever dealt with..

Here's one for you nuken:

How do I remove the top 10's inside categories.

The links in them go to faulty pages..

Has something to do with 'rid' and 'id' in the link

eg. The link from top 10 will be:

modules.php?name=mreviews&file=rev&rid=8

but the actual article link is:

modules.php?name=mreviews&file=rev&id=8

It adds the 'r' to if you click the links from '10 most popular reviews' and '10 most recent reviews' which goes to a page saying:

Review ID not found.

Please go back

I would even be happy if you just told me how to remove the 'top 10' things in the categories altogether. Smile

yea that's what i'm talking about

but the links don't work from that section

The 10 most recent/popular review links don't work

Yours do on your website but mine say:

Review ID not found.

Please go back

if you could paste your cat.php file from the mreviews module, we might be able to see where the issue is.

If you are going to ask for help, you really should not remove the RavenNuke(tm) copyright information in the footer. [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ]

i will paste as soon as possible - don't have access to FTP at the moment.

And I have been having footer issues that I am working on so don't worry about your other comment.
