I've been using PCNuke for some time. Lots of nice features all in one package. I rebuilt my server, and upgraded to PHP5. The web site had a problem with that, and Google had a good hit on PCNuke's site for an answer to the error I'm getting. Click... PCNuke is gone! It's been weeks now, and their apparently not comming back. Their old web hosting site isn't even redirecting me to the "account disabled" site anymore.

Does anyone know what happened to PCNuke?

Thx...

No idea.

Is it time to migrate to RavenNuke(tm) which has been certified to run on PHP5 and MySQL 5.x? Of course, only the core distro is certified (I've been running it this way for 2 years). Each add-on needs to also support PHP5.

Good luck with the PCNuke thing. If you post the PHP error and the lines of code around where the error is being reported, we might still be able to help you.

it's almost not listed in google anymore so "dead" should be the word.

I have no idea why but, somehow i always know that when a derivative pops up which one dies and which stays.
Building and keeping a project alive is not for the faint-harted.

Could we build a history list of dead/alive nukes?

IMHO standard nuke have passed away several years ago, its developers (it was just FB?) never knew how to seize nuke momentum, never stopped to listen to general users complaints, never give official support to users issues and so on then starting to lose ground to other systems like Mambo, then Joomla, and Droopal mostly.

And that's just the opposite way we want to step in with RavenNuke development, we wanna know what you think, we want to know how to make the system even better with each release, we wanna hear your complaints and find a way to workaround it, we wanna know what's broken so we can fix it... So, finally, I think this is teh perfect moment to leave behind and migrate to RavenNuke... Bet you'll not be disappointed.

Not sure of the status, but here are some flavors:

BonusNuke
BizNuke
CrossNuke
DadaNuke
edogsCMS
NSN Nuke
Maximus / Max Fuzion / Nuke Extreme
Nuke Evolution
Nuke Platinum
PC Nuke
PragmaMX

Of course...RavenNuke is certainly alive and well!

There were others BEFORE RN... Smile

Some were language-specific distributions and most were patched with NukeSentinel included, along with a few enhancements / modules depending on the primary focus. Some, like Evolution and Platinum, took an all-inclusive approach to adding things, especially forum mods.

Don't forget cpg-nuke which evolved to "something different" Razz

And then there's:
- future-nuke
- postnuke

djmaze, definitely didn't mean to exclude cpg-nuke! Thanks for remembering future-nuke. Postnuke was more of a fork than a distribution like the others.

Susann, I've never heard of CiroxX. Thanks!

I don't consider smeego a CMS since it was not fully released and there was never any support.

There was an active forum but now I think about it, strange how most of the forum posts were not about support and were just extolling the virtues of of the CMS Wink
It was crappy any way lol

They closed their forums awhile ago. I think they are done.

Lets see if I can play the what happened game.....(This is all stuff as I remember it so it may not be 100% correct)

Stopped the project and switched their site to a all inclusive mod, module site. Looks dead.

Actually maximus is not "nuke" anymore. It's supporting phpnuke modules (the one running on $db) and is now one of the most advanced forked nuke CMS seen (No offense raven).
I was beta tester on the Maximus-BS , but let down because the scripting was going too fast.

Latest version of Maximus2008 came out in november. [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ]

So I discovered some additional distributions after finding an interesting addon called Nuke U Group (a la Facebook).

There are also some Italian-based versions:
CleanNuke
WL Nuke

The author of Nuke U Group (Matteo Iammarrone) also created an enhanced distribution of WL Nuke (from [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ] and appears to be working on a true fork (rather than a distribution): S-CMS. It appears to have a new registration system, online theme editor, unique block administration, plug-in system, and more.

Also, @eldorado: I must have missed your post before - please define what you meant by most advanced. I am aware of the various French distributions / forks, including Maximus.

And there is also some work from the weblord.it group to use phpBB 3.

And a really interesting idea: converting Joomla users to Nuke

Where is Nuke Evangelist when you need him?
