Most phpNuke themes will work with RN. There are loads of websites around, below is just a few of them:

It all depends what you are looking for.

BTW I've moved this to the themes forum.

If you are looking for a up-to-date tested theme use instead one of the included themes in RavenNuke and change e.g. the colors. This is the simplest way.

Btw: Buy a theme only with money back guarantee or touching up.

All the themes in Ravennuke validate through the w3c validator. You should run any theme you are considering through the same.

http://validator.w3.org/#validate_by_input

Also, while it is your choice, just be aware of the issues you can be getting yourself into with a proliferation of themes. Say you customize the header to have your logo instead of the Ravennuke one. One theme, fine, you can keep track of it. 15? Now you've got a job on your hands. What happens when an update comes. You've got 15 themes to synchronize with the update, keeping your changes but getting any fixes also. It can get nuts so be careful.

Best way to look up markup, is with firefox and Page validator 3.0.0

To see your theme code easely use:
firefox Webdevelloper extension , you can find here chrispederick.com

I use Tidy for FF and because I usally donĀ“t trust one I use several online validators like validome org etc. etc.. and sometimes Ravens validator too.
The most old themes have always the same errors. Sometimes it looks like the copied the erros over. From one site to the next beneed this real multilingual themes are seldom.
Maybe they have a different understanding of multilingual or its just the old Nuke Code by FB.

It can be both.
If something is coded wrong in the core script (non-xhtml code) you wil also recieve validation errors, even if the theme is valid xhtml coded.
And ofcourse visa versa.

[EDIT]
Page validator i suggested above redirects you to w3c directly so it isnt a libary or 3thparty based validation service.

There are many ways to validate. By suggesting the w3c validator I was just suggesting the most straightforward but of course adding tools to Firefox is another good way and may provide more in the way of diagnostics to figure out where the problems are. When I ran into complex problems trying to diagnose the current Ravennuke themes (and yes, Susann was right, many of the errors were copied over from one theme to another, there were even errors where one theme would reference an image from another theme because the author had copied and pasted and then never updated what he had pasted into the new theme) but anyway to diagnose a theme I copied the source over into a PHP editor and ran tidy on it to help figure out exactly what the "chain" of errors was. Validation type errors cascade and you need to work back from the symptoms to the source and fix that first, then revalidate and find the source of any remaining errors until you eliminate them all.

"Little buggsies have little buggsy's on 'em and they bite ;em and littler buggsies have even littler buggsies on 'em and they bite 'em ad infinitum"

But getting back to the main point, if you are considering an alternative theme the first step is to validate it.

There are a number of stock themes in RN package that you can use. Other than that you can use one of the above sites.

You could always do what I did.

Used fisubice as a base and changed colours and graphics. Believe me I'm not very good at coding, but with a little trial and error, firefox and firebug, I ended up satisfied with the result. Very Happy
