Hey guys,

Whats the deffrence between XHTML 1.0 and HTML 4.01?

I was using HTML 4.01 and I see RN using XHTML 1.0, why?

If I use HTML 4.01 the forum looks fine but If I change it to XHTML 1.0 like RN uses it gets messed up.

What could be the problem?

What theme are you using?
If you use fisubice does it work?
Where are you changing from HTML to XHTML, in the header?

There are many differences between XHTML and HTML, I can't list them all here. Just google it.

It is true that recent version of RavenNuke switched the DOCTYPE from HTML to XHTML.

Semantically, there are subtle differences between the two when it comes to centering elements. If you are using a forum template that was written for HTML you may have to tweak it to get it to look the same under XHTML. It is also a sad fact that many forum templates and themes were not written correctly under HTML (they were never checked with a validator), and these fail even more spectacularly under XHTML.
