disable topic images in news

i want to disable images topic images in the news like on this site

A simple way might be to just to add your pictures/contents in a block with center up or center down positioning.

I also don't like the topic images whenever you post a news topic. Additionally, I would like to have the option to disable the footer info for news. To get around these, I just use message and promote them to the frontpage.

The only thing about messages is I haven't figured out how to reorder the messages. I tried to renumber them in the database but that didn't work. As far as I can tell, messages stay in the order that you post them.

You can remove the topic images by modifying your theme. See the themeindex() and themearticle() functions in theme.php. Remove the code that echo's out the topic <img> tag.
