I have been searching forums for hours. I may not be searching with the right key words. anyway. I moved my PHP-Nuke site to another host account. I moved all the files/folder, created the database and dumped all the info into the new database. most of the site works but I get "Access denied" when even trying to view the [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ] page. I have the chatsrv patches and Nuke Sentinel both. i don't remember what versions but I installed them about 6 to 8 months ago. The site still works on my old host server. Any idea where to start?

Do you, perchance, have any code in your admin.php file that checks for a certain IP or domain name?

I had that site problem, its a code on admin.php as Raven said you have to comment out. Find "
Code:
//Uncomment the following lines after setting the site url in the Administration

under that just put // in front of each line of code until you set your preferences. That is if your still having the prob. Youve had to fix that when you first had your other site or someone did

Thanks, that got me to the admin sign in and to the admin menu. I had already seen that section of code in the admin.php but was afraid to remove it. will having this commented out open me to hacks?

Another thing, it looks like I have other problems. I can get into the admin menu but NONE of the modules work. I click it and get a blank page. I even locked myself out from home with Nuke Sentinel by clicking around to see what works and what does not. I easily corrected that by removing the record in the 'nuke_nsnst_blocked_ips` table.

Man,, doing database work only every 6 to 8 months is a pain. I alway forget what i learned the last round and have to start all over again.
Bang Head

Thanks again everyone.

Ok, Ive too had that same problem. But What had happend is I had moved my admin.php. Yours sounds like it could be something simple I just cant think what. And one time I did have that happen and it wasnt my admin.php and I just dropped the tables and started a new one and imported my users, downloads, and such. I dont think having that code will open you up to hacks but it would probably be a good idea to fix it back once you have your prefernces set. I think that is just against exploits people run from other servers hitting your admin, but maybe something totlay different.
