i hope this is in the right place, i am new to this forum.

i have phpnuke 7.8 and just a few things arent working properly.
whenever anyone submits a link broken download or anything like that it doesnt get sent through to me.

also when people make comments on anything i cannot view the comments for some reason.

and here is the biggest pain, a couple of the passwords arent encrypted.

any idea how to fix these?

Scrap nuke v7.8 and revert back to v7.6. There too many things wrong with v7.7-7.9 to go into, again. You can read in many other threads about why.

Welcome to the forums! In the future please choose subject lines that are more descriptive of your issues. Be sure to read the READ ME FIRST thread at [ Only registered users can see links on this board! ok thank you very much, i will go and have a read.

while having a nosey round i did see that you had said a few times to go back to 7.6.

to do this can you just over write the files or do i have to uninstall 7.9 then reinstall 7.6, also will this affect my mysql database as it is huge.

Get this: [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ] to downgrade your database and then wipe your files clean and install a patched 7.6 distribution.

i have used the downgrade script like you suggested and i get this

Operation Status!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- ALTER TABLE nuke_users failed
- ALTER TABLE nuke_users failed
- DROP TABLE nuke_comments_moderated failed
- DROP TABLE nuke_pollcomments_moderated failed
- DROP TABLE nuke_reviews_comments_moderated failed
- ALTER TABLE nuke_comments failed
- ALTER TABLE nuke_pollcomments failed
- ALTER TABLE nuke_stories failed
- ALTER TABLE nuke_modules failed

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Operation Complete!
You MUST upload the PHP-Nuke 7.6 files to your server for the downgrade to be complete.

Use phpmyadimn and see if nuke_comments_moderated is still in the database. If it isn't then the code probably worked. That's not my script but I know that the author is very reliable and many have used the script. Actually, the script is for 7.7-7.8, not 7.9. That might be the problem.

so I wan't sure which you had.

It appears that your database is probably ok. Now, I would rename your database and start over with a fresh install of RavenNuke76(tm) and then once you have it working, move the tables from your original database to your new RN76 database.

For the 1,512'th time - YES Laughing. RavenNuke76(tm) is phpnuke v7.6 that has been updated to Patch Level 3.1 with the latest release of NukeSentinel(tm) installed. Other addons will be coming, but it is still phpNuke.
