I appear to have another little issue with the Site Info Block. The # of members isn't the same as what appears in the list of members below. I am attaching a screenshot to show you what I'm referring to. Thanks for any help anyone can provide.

Cheers,

Brent

Aha! Is that what that "H" refers to? If so, it's not much use to be hidden if my Site Info Block shows you as being online huh?

Is there a way to prevent people from trying to hide themselves (since they are not really hidden anyway)?

It just lets you know, if you are not logged in as an admin, when there are people lurking... Wink

I don't understand, when you are NOT logged in as Admin it shows the hidden people or only Admins can see the hidden lurkers?

You set the controls at the top of the script. Also, a good way to see what's really happening is to log out as admin and as a user to see what anonymous sees. Then login in as user only to see what a registered user sees. Then, finally, log in as admin.

True... I always stay logged in as Admin. So only I as an Admin can se the hidden users (?).

The controls at the top of the script don't seem to have anything to do with hidden users:

/*********************************************************************************************************/
/* Setup - Use these settings to control how some of the user info block displays to users/admins. */
/*********************************************************************************************************/
$showGuests = TRUE; //Allow/notAllow displaying of guest ip's partial or otherwise.
$showGuestsAdmin = TRUE; //Allow/notAllow displaying of guest ip's partial or otherwise to Admins.
$showServerDateTime = FALSE; //Allow/notAllow displaying of Server Date/Time.
$showServerDateTimeAdmin = FALSE; //Allow/notAllow displaying of Server Date/Time to Admins.
/*********************************************************************************************************/

Or should I be looking for other settings?

Right. I was just mentioning that there are settings for what registered and admins can see.

when you are not logged in as an admin you do not see the hidden people but you will see the number differential so you know someone is lurking...

I still haven't logged out as Admin to see what it does but this still puzzles me. If I am an Admin I can of course see things others can't, or so I would hope. So maybe when someone is lurking I see their name in the list with (H) after it. Is this correct?

Now back to what you said, if I am NOT logged in as an Admin I don't see the hidden people but I see the number differential. How would someone see a number differential unless they could also see someone in the user list with an (H) after their name? If they don't see that (H) then how will they know there are hidden people? They shouldn't, right, after all if regular users could see hidden people what would the use be to hide? What am I missing?

Well my site info block tells the amount of people hidden to everyone so I don't know. But yes the admin sees the (H)...

I finally logged out so I could see for myself. And yes as Admin you can see the hideen users in the place where it shows who is online, non-Admins cannot see that, which of course makes complete sense. And I do not display the # of hidden users in my Info block so the only people who can see the hidden folks are admins.

Thanks for your help!!

Brent
