For those that would wish to DISABLE "User Registration" via FORUMS (phpBB) via used GT'ed approach...

This may be especially handy in case of "spammer users" just being there to cause you pain by registrating via phpBB offered PATH.

There are plenty of other ways as well, however this is somewhat of effortless, as it does not require touching/altering the PHP-Nuke core architecture....

As a result of this mod, all the accesses being targetted to perform "user registration via phpBB", most of hte "key accesses" related to "unwanted accesses" are mod-rewritten to "$sitename/forums.html"

Files being modified in EXAMPLE approach:

* "GT_Forums.php" "section"

Please see the underneath guidance & instructions posted by 64bitguy - you'll get to accomplish with the functional target with more a rational approach by obeying his advice - i.e. "not only to block, but also to equip to procedure with clever intent" (thanks to 64bitguy!)

This looks like opposite of what it is described as.

wouldn't you want this to instead forward to your_account functions?

I simply made this change in my GT-forums.php file:

in the out section change:
"forum-editprofile.html",
to:
"account-edituser.html",

This takes all users to their Your Account equivelant.
By doing this, even not logged in users will be taken to the Your_Account side and thus, if they click on "register" anywhere, they will be taken the GT equivelant of that function being "account-user_new.html" (in my case).

Yeah, great! I'd say "go for it" with the latter advice, as it has "rational intent" in addition to performed "actual GT'ed blocking".

I should mention that I didn't use any of the GT code that you included above... I simply made that one change in the original GT code (that I mentioned in my post) to accomplish all of it.
