Google Tap's userinfo revealing maybe too much info

Hi folks.

I'm not sure if this is serious or not, but something that I have discovered is that for some reason, GoogleTapped sites seem to be populating unwanted "userinfo" into the search engines.

My spam amount has been going up, so today, just out of curiousity, I did a search by my email address. What I discovered was that it came up many many times, but only on Googletapped sites.

Basically, it looks like userinfo-whoever.html pages are revealing email address properties and the search engines (especially yahoo) are gobbling it up.

I'm wondering if there is a way to address and fix this.

Hmmm. I just went to the similar link on my site and there is no email info there. Try it here. In the site info block, click on the little people icon and see if your email address is visible anywhere.

I couldn't but what I did see was this site in the listing back to my userinfo when I looked up my email address in yahoo.

I'm not sure where the problem lies.

See the email button at the bottom of your post? I was just speculating the possibly the robots can spider that. I'm not sure how else they could be getting your email from my site unless you haf revealed it some where in a post maybe?

Well on your site, the email button leads to an internal generation from (Which I love!) Can I ask you how you managed to change the email properties of userinfo into an internal function versus actually providing a link to my actual email address (like my site)?

[ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ] is what your site generates for the "Email" button.. my site reveals your actual email address and would open it up in Outlook or whatever your mail client system is.

That is enabled in the forums config.

As far as the other problem I have always put in a fake email on the pages google can index.

The actual option to enable/disable in the forums config is "User email via board"
