I tried an install to Nuke Platinum, 6.9 and it didn't go to well. Actually the web page looked almost like a view source page. LOL

Anyone ever look into this? I would like to see Sentinel working on Platinum. Both are outstanding products.

What/where is Nuke Platinum 6.9 ?
Unless they altered the core user/admin system Nuke Sentinel "Should" work on PHPNuke 6.5 - 7.4.

That program was one of the few times I got excited about a phpNuke release...LOL

Those guys have been working their butts off (just like your members here).

And, I'm not sure, but they may have changed the core files some.

Thanks Raven, but I guess I should made the topic name describe what I was asking a little better.

The Platinum 6.9 is a modified PHP Nuke, and I can't quite just update to 7.3.

The security fixes should already be included, but you know me, If I can put sentinel on it, I WILL! Razz

The basic install of sentinel just didn't work. That's all.

First, I downloaded the newest version from this site. I downloaded it a few hours ago.

Second, ran the install on the nsnst.php. Everything looks good so far.

Third, went to the Sentinel Link in the admin page. First thing I noticed was the name under wasn't as it was supposed to be. It had the _AB_NUKESENTINEL text instead.

I could fix that later, so I clicked on the Sentinel Icon and got the 'ol

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: abget_configs() in /admin/modules/sentinel.php on line 29

OOPS, forgot the:

include("includes/sentinel.php");

Soooo...I went in to mainfile.php and added what I forgot.

Clicked on the Sentinel PHP and to my suprise The entire page looked like a jumble of numbers and text. Kind of like a huge view source in notepad. No formatting, or anything. Almost like the php tags had been removed or something. Really wierd.

DON'T EVER USE NOTEPAD OR WORDPAD FOR EDITING PHP FILES Bang Head

We have reititerated that time and time again. Use a vaild programmer's editor like text pad. Those 2 pieces of doodoo can't understand *nix line break characters and will hose up your files if they aren't created on a windoze machine. Next, there is no code you need to be editing anyway Smile.

It sounds like your ftp client may not be ftp'ing correctly. Transfer the files in binary mode w/o opening anything in an editor.

ok, I will try that.

I used Dreamweaver MX to edit the mainfile.php file. I was just referring to the way the page looked. It looked almost like if you take this page in internet explorer and click on the View => Source. See how you get all the text? Remove the formatting, and you have something like what I had.

I am going to try this thing again in a little while, and if it repeats the process, I will give you a link to look at the page.

Winsyntax is a great free text editor and does syntax highlighting.
Imho though the all time greatest is Ultra-Edit. Although it isn't free it is worth buying. I use it for absolutely everything.
