Hey I tried searching the forums but nothing I found addresses what my problem seems to be.

If you edit your profile on the forum and go to show gallery at the bottom and select an avatar, then save. Then go back and do it again, the first avatar you selected goes missing from the directory and has to be re uploaded.

For example, I choose avatar 'funhat.gif' and save it. Then I say nah thats silly and I go back and make my avatar 'bsd.gif'. When you look at the gallery again funhat.gif wont be shown anymore, nor will it be in the FTP directory.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

I found several topics about avatars, but none were that they deleted themself if a user decided to stop using them. Seemed 90% of them were people having problems with the directory /gallery/ and the 2 seperate links to change the avatar for your profile.

Have you used Chatservs updates (links on the main page) I just tried on my 7.4 patched site and don't have this problem.

What version of Nuke?

This is one thing i have submitted twice to the phpBB group but it seems they don't like it for one reason or the other so the problem persists.

I think this fix applies to Nuke 6.9 and newer, open includes/user_cp_register.php and find 2 times:
Code:
if ( @file_exists(@phpbb_realpath('./' . $board_config['avatar_path'] . '/' . $userdata['user_avatar'])) )

change to:
Code:
if ( @file_exists(@phpbb_realpath('./' . $board_config['avatar_path'] . '/' . $userdata['user_avatar'])) && $userdata['user_avatar_type'] == USER_AVATAR_UPLOAD )

Thanks chatserv. You are the man! That did it. I just changed that line as you instructed. And tried changing my avatar about 10 times, and all the old chosen ones stayed in the directory, hooray!

Now if only I can figure out why my jump to and usergroup links dont point to the right places lol. Suppose I deserve it downloading a older and seems incomplete theme Smile~

Mr. Green Mr. Green THANKS SO MUCH!

Btw. Im using 7.4 nuke hehe

Its a reflection of my eating habits and politics all in one. I'm all for the humane and ethical treatment of animals. My definition of humane and ethical doesn't mean I'll stop wearing or eating them.

If Freud were alive today, Six would be his most [and possibly only] interesting study, beyond a shadow of a doubt.
