admin.php unknown error

My admins recently began getting this error when logging as admin at clanfga.com/admin.php :

I do not get the NukeSentinel login box, it just goes straight to this error message. Nothing is posted to the error log. However, on one browser (firefox) that I was already logged in as admin, it works fine.

Also, if I remove .htaccess I get the admin login page. I have not yet had a chance to examine .htaccess yet.

Any ideas?

Some questions come to mind:
Anything in the error log?
Assuming it started recently without other changes, is it possibly due to server OS or Apache upgrade?
Is there an issue with the auth file (missing, damaged)?
Try restarting Apache?

I figured it out - I think. I recently began forcing SSL so users can login securely. If the admin uses [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ] it works fine.

Thanks for your help. This is by far my favorite CMS, so I always worry that I won't get a reply when I post here since most days there is no activity on these forums.
