Hi,

One of my older sites is becoming lil strain on resources to host and run it so planning to shift the articles on free hosted blogger/wordpress platform. Is there anyway to export from ravennuke to an xml file that can be imported in blogger via blog import (xml)

How can I do a migration to the blogger platform any idea? I am concerned with migration of the articles only. User accounts will be deactivated anyway will sort of keep it as a archive. Got over 35000 posts so copy paste is out of question.

Best

I don't know what blogger really needs but you can export the _stories db-table with phpmyadmin as XML-file.

The only thing I could find was a shcema from Blooger export but should give you an idea of what the schema would need to look like [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ]

Needless to say, you would need to write a script to convert the data in your tables to an XML file that you could import.

I'm a little confused though why resources are being strained. Only X number of results would be displayed per query so it should not make any difference to resource overhead if you have 1000 or 100,000 news items since the same amount of overhead is required - unless of course have set the pagination to an very high level.

Rather than making a ton of work for yourself converting your data, you might want to check your server stats and find out where the problem really is - it could be something simple like images being hotlinked.
