I'm looking for a way (or pointers) to restrict 'veiwability' of news articles.
To be specific, news articles should always be visible to 'registered members' but I need a way to switch off the visibility of any specific news article (during posting or editing) if the option is selected 'not visible to guest'.

Or does anyone know of an add-on that mght do the trick (have searched but not found anything).

I actually am working on this very thing with someone else, via email, unless you are one and the same. When I have something I will post back.

Thats great news Raven, I cannot tell you how much I'm looking forward to seeing the results of your much vaunted skills.
No it isnt me you are communicating with by email but it is reassuring to know I'm not the only one who would benefit from this hack.

The particular project I am working on actually is for topics, not artices, per se. So it's not quite the same now that I think about it. I will keep this in mind though. Maybe I can incorporate it all in one. We'll see ....

Thanks Raven.
I suppose the end result would be the same i.e instead of controlling visibility by each individual news article, it would be done by posting to specifc 'topics' and controlling the visibility that way.

Your project would certainly be a useful and well used addition to my site when completed.
I would be happy to test on a live or dummy site if it is of benefit.
