Hope this is in the correct forum, have had a search but couldn't find this.

I have just updated my two web sites to RN2.30.01 one site is in the route directory and all seems to work ok.

The problem site is in a subdirectory with its own domain name. When I log in as Admin I can edit the content and news items and edit the revised link url to point at the new FCKeditor upload directory structure into the news item and save it. If I then view the news item as Admin all is ok.

When I log out and go to the website via the domain name as a visitor (not loged in) the images are missing. What needs changing to sort this out.

The website is [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ]

So the images appear in News stories when you are logged out as Admin but logged in as a regular user?

Hi Raven....

Have just checked again.

When logged in as Admin all images are ok, but the image URL in the editor is adding /********/uploads/image/ etc. I think this should just be /uploads/image/ etc.

Images don't show as either visitor or when logged in as member.

All works ok with the main site which is in the route directory. So its a subdirectory problem.

Check what your value for the upload directory is i the rnconfig.php file and adjust accordingly.

Value at present is $uploadpath = '';

Which is the default value, same as in my main site. If I change it to point at the subdirectory for the problem site, will it still show the full path in the image urls when viewed from the domain [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ]

Ok have tried to change the uploads path in rnconfig, didn't seem to make any difference.

I still end up with the url in the editor showing the /brzjcphp/ appended to the front of the uploads directory.

If I edit the /brzjcphp/ from the front of the image url in the editor and save it the image is missing with just a place tag in the article. But if I then log out and view the article as a guest the images show up correctly.

Very strange.

Sorry just seen that you had asked to register on the website Raven, should be ok now. Because I need to get to sleep soon, I have re edited the news articles and removed the /brzjcphp/ part of the url so that at least visitors can see the images, will have another look at it tomorrow evening.

Thanks

John

If you look at the image paths for the top news item, you will see that there is a New image text shown but no graphic, the image url is the path which shows up in Admin but not in user mode. Below that is the main 15-12-08.jpg graphic which doesn't show up in Admin (after editing the /brzjcphp/ out) but now does show ok to regular users.

I think I had this very same problem with the FCKeditor way back and not sure if we ever got to the bottom of it. If I didn't have to run this website in a sub-directory of the main site it would probably be a lot easier.

The normal website address is [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ] but it can also be got to via [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ]

Sounds like the path needs to be overridden in rnconfig for the subdirectory site.

Only just got back to this. Did you find anything obvious Raven. I agree kguske that it sounds like an override is required, just not sure what. I'm sure I had this problem before with RN2.02.02 and FCKeditor, in the end I think I just ended up editing the final url before saving the article. Pain in the back end when editing articles as Admin but at least they showed up in the final website ok.

Have had another play with rrnconfig uploads path and tried adding the following:-

'/brzjcphp/uploads/'

I just get the exact situation as before. The url shows the same path as from the root directory, ie. ../brzjcphp/uploads/image/ etc.

If I accept this path the image dosn't show in the site as a normal visitor, because the domain is maped to the subdirectory ../brzjcphp/

If I delete the /brzjcphp part form the url then everything views ok as a visitor.

It looks like you need to be able to set a path for the url when in Admin which will automaticly be changed to the shorter form when visiting the site via the subdomain.

Would changing some of the path settings in /includes/FCKeditor/editor/filemanager/connectors/php/config.php sort out this or just cause me more problems.
