Hi all, I would like to make my theme fixed width say 982 etc.
Is this a complex thing to change and is it many files to edit?
There seems to be more and more people using wide screen, mine is a 24inch monitor and to see the theme stretched that far doesnt look good Sad
any idea`s
cheers all

Sounds like the theme is already fixed to larger than you would like . If you can give me a link to your website and the name of the theme i may be able to tell you more. But it usually involves a few image edits and an edit in the theme.php or tables.php if its an autotheme.
Also please state your version of nuke Smile

if the site is [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ] then it looks like your theme is already 100% width (adjusts to your browser / resolution). But the center content isnt, so the theme will need to be placed in a table, as well as look at the image widths of the images holding the table and story content as they look as though they do not adjust atm.
send your theme to me if you like scott (at) php-clans (dot) com
i'll see what i can do for you Smile

You should be able to wrap the HTML with a div tag and use the max-width style. I don't believe this tag is supported in IE6, but it should work for all modern browsers.

as i said, the theme needs to be placed in a table that is cross-browser compatible. Send it over and ill fix it for you Smile

It's a shame to have to stick it in a table, but I guess the theme already uses tables alot and it's not compliant either, so what's the harm.

If it was a CSS layout I would avoid using a table and go with the max-width style. Wink

It is a shame every other browser gets its right, but Micro$oft seem to struggle and web designers have to find workarounds. Sorry getting off topic now.
