How would you import those usernames/passwords into the nuke_users DB for rnuke 2.20.01?

Sorry if it kinda sounds like a stupid question....

Helping a friend convert only a forum DB into a full rnuke install (i suggested rnuke to him Smile

Ok, sorry about not being more specific before, I didnt have access to the server yet, and couldnt see exactly what it was.

Their regular site was just a homepage with a phpbb2 forum and database. They tried setting up a nuke site and upgraded that phpbb2 forum to phpbb3. Now all they have is that forum database, and they want to use rnuke as a CMS. So basically I need to backwards convert a phpbb3 user database to rnuke 2.20.01.

Is this possible? Ive been searching and havent found anything yet.

I have not heard of such a backport/migration tool, but that doesn't mean there isn't one out there lurking around somewhere. But, you may have to custom write it. I just am not familiar enough with phpBB3 to know how similar/different its tables are.

this is the only converter i found [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ] it will only convert your posts and topics not users. you have to convert phpbb3 to phpbb2 then convert phpbb2 to RN

*Don't forget to make backups first*

Ya, I found a phpbb2 copy of a db dating back to December, so thats what im going to do.

Dunno if you remember montego, but I think you helped me do this to my site ages ago.

I started looking up BBtonuke, and trying to find the script to convert a phpbb2 DB to the latest rnuke, but cant find jack.

Nope... wasn't me. phpBB isn't my strong suit.

phpbb2phpnuke on [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ]
It does not upgrade to RavenNuke, you will still have to follow the RavenNuke directions to upgrade from phpNuke

sweet, thx evaders.

So basically I need to install PHPNuke (7.6 im guessing) first? Then delete that install, and install rnuke?

You don't even have to install 7.6, unless you want to test functionality of the database conversion. Just load the 7.6 tables, that is all that is required

Sorry for asking such idiotic questions, I just wanna make sure I do this right.

Where should I get my distro of 7.6, and how would I just install the tables (will the .sql file be in the install?).

Thanks again in advance.

Where can I get the 7.6 tables without installing.

Just the nuke.sql file will do. Extract it from the Nuke 7.6 package

K, I got the database setup correctly I believe.

I have used bigdump to add the phpbb tables, then imported the nuke.sql from the 7.6 release.

Ive read through the readme of the rnuke install, and dont really see what I have to do to upgrade these stock phpnuke 7.6 tables to rnuke.

At this point, I have the latest rnuke installed in a subdir and just configured the config.php to read from this one. I hope im doing this right!!!

Is there anything else that needs to be done. . . i just finished running all the bb upgrades and the forums/users seem to be working correctly.

Im still seeing the PHP-Nuke Powered Site all over the place. . . so im not sure if its upgraded or not.

I have the latest ravennuke files in there, but have not made any changes to the DB since I upgraded the phpbb to php-nuke 7.6.
