I am running phpnuke 8.0 patch 3.3. In the mainfile.txt, I don't have instruction for 8.0. Should I use the 7.6-7.9 or just don't worry about it and change all the other things that I can.

Thanks

Proceed as if you have 7.9. Not all the changes are going to match your code exactly, probably.

Thanks,

Should I upload those .htaccess, .ftaccess, .staccess to my root directory before I do the install or should I perform the installation and then put .htaccess, .ftaccess and .staccess to my root directory.

Thankd

Do the install first then upload those files only if you are going to use them.

After I log into admin.php and then ran nsnst.php. It didn't seem to do anything. What do I suppose to see after the installation or during the installation?

Thanks

nsnst.php is supposed to provide you options to install the new tables. And then if you've done the file edits, you should see a NukeSentinel button in your admin panel

I upload all the files. I tried to run nsnst.php but it doesn't do a thing. Isn't it because mine is 8.0 patch 3.3, too new for this sentinel.

I have not edite the core files yet because according to the installation, I will do that after running nsnst.php.

I did tried to edit those file before I run the nsnst.php but my site would not get up at all. I guess those files that they called are not there yet.

Any help is greatly appreciated it.

Thanks

echo "hello 1;";
I edit the nsnst.php file and I got

hello 1 and hello2 and hello 3 BUT I don't have hello 4. It stops at hello 4. Any help is greatly appreciated it.

@set_time_limit(600);
echo "hello 2;";
require_once("mainfile.php");
echo "hello 3;";
if(!defined("NUKESENTINEL_IS_LOADED")) { include("includes/nukesentinel.php"); }
echo "hello 4;";
global $admin_file;
echo "hello 5;";

I think you need to make the core edits if you are going to include includes/nukesentinel.php. If your site would not come up with the edits then I suspect you made an error in the edits. You can turn on $display_errors = true in config.php to see what problems PHP is having with your edits.

I have not run the nsnst.php yet. I edited all the core file and I find out that the @require_once(INCLUDE_PATH."includes/nukesentinel.php"); stop the loading of my page.

************************************

My page comes up after I command it out.

@require_once(INCLUDE_PATH."db/db.php");
echo "require_once_a;";
//@require_once(INCLUDE_PATH."includes/nukesentinel.php");
echo "require_once_b;";

Any help is greatly appreciated it.

The includes/nukesentinel.php does exist. I have uploaded all the files.

It isn't clear to me that you have successfully installed the database tables for Sentinel. You can't really expect includes/nukesentinel.php to run correctly if the database tables aren't there.

I would suggest downloading XAMPP so you can run a local copy of your site on your PC. Once you have a copy of your site in your XAMPP environment, read and follow the Sentinel installation instructions there. This will give you a chance to get all the bugs worked out of the core edits and a chance to work through the installation instructions and procedure without fear of mucking up your live site. Then it will be a piece of cake to update your live site once you have the core edits made and you have confidence in the install procedure.

Another option for you if this is a brand new site is to switch to RavenNuke, which already has Sentinel integrated for you. Even if it isn't brand new, you may also consider doing so, as RavenNuke has many bug fixes that do not exist in 8.0.

What steps in the installation guide is to install the database tables for Sentinel?

Where can I find this RavenNuke? Thanks

Running nsnst.php installs the database tables.
RavenNuke is found here in the downloads.

With my little debugging tool. I found out that I forgot to upload the whole sentinel language directory. My bad!!!

I was able to run the nsnst.php and have the little sentinel icon on my admin page. I see the little ? help there but is there any better help menu there. What about the IP2 things. I am no so sure what to do with it. Thanks

I try to import the IP2. I don't seem to be allowed to pick all countries. It kinds of like does it itself. It imported successfully one time I think because I saw a bunch of stuff under IP2. However, after I log out from the system and log back in as admin. Everything GONE!!!

Any help is greatly appreciated it.

thanks
