Why is it.. I can't allow Authors to have access to Messages?

I have only 2 folks (husband/wife) that get in and modify content.. They would like access to the two Messages shown on the main page.. But I can't grant them access unless they are a Super User and thats a BIG NO NO!

How can I set Authors to have access to Messages Module?

Why is that a big no-no? I would just give them access unless you knew they were technically incompetent.

Thats the reason.. I fear they'll start fartin round with modules/blocks/configurations etc.. I only want to allow them access to change the messages.. I dont know why an Author wouldnt be allowed to do that..

Any way to make it so they can ? When they log in as Author the "Edit" button is on the main page where the 2 messages are.. When they click it they get access denied.

Unfortunately, there is currently no way that I know to do this. It would take a customization of nuke code.

Wish I had the time. I have the same problem, but I just let 'em have it all and trained them well.

It is on my long list of "to-dos" to create a simple hack to turn system admin functions into "module admins".... Then you could simply use the module checkboxes. I have a feeling it could be rather easy to do if someone here has the time to give it a try.
