We are looking for anyone willing to donate to the victims of Hurricane Katrina. If are willing to donate even the smallest amount, it would be greatly appreciated. Every penny donated will be given to the American Red Cross.

You can make a donation by going to the following link: http://www.sportsrant.com/forums/. Look on the right side and you will see a donation form.

I would really appreciate all the help!

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families who are affected by this tragedy and to those who have lost loved ones.

Kindest Regards,

Mike

Or donate directly to the American Red Cross at http://www.redcross.org/ As with any natural disaster or catastrophic event, there are unscrupulous individuals who setup scams to prey on the goodwill of others. Note: I am not commenting nor questioning the intentions of sportsrant.com see http://www.boingboing.net/2005/08/31/watch_out_for_phony_.html

First off you’re correct in your statement. In my eyes you have hurt this campaign and I know that I can send money to the Red Cross myself. I was, just trying as an organization to gather up something from my members. If you noticed who posted this, Raven, then you may think that he may only post legitimate items

Raven, please remove this story as soon as you get a chance, I do not want this article published on this site from this point forward

Mike,

I will pull it if you really want me to, but I don't think there was any evil intent on his part. He didn't just make an unwarranted statement - he gave a link and in this day and age of scams, especially Internet scams, I think it was presented in a fair, non-slanderous way.

However, as I said, if you still want me to pull it I will

Hey Mike,
I think what you are trying to do is great and I commend you in your efforts. I've read the comments attached to this article also, and I feel that the comment offering an alternative donation method was not meant as an attack on you or site personally, but just as a warning to be aware of the person or site someone donates to. But I can also see why you would have perceived as such, the comment is a bit vague. I think the article should remain.

Thanks again Mike ..... :)
