PHP 4.3.2 and future releases have modified the fread() function, or as the PHP Developers will state it, all versions of PHP prior to 4.3.1 were broken. Uh-huh. In any event, if you are using PHP 4.3.2 and KISSQ, you may have noticed, as I did, that no news was getting reported. fread() was the cuplrit. This is now fixed and 1 small bug was caught in the process.
If you downloaded KISSQ prior to 6/30/2003 12:40 hours, then redownload. The only file you have to replace is the index.php file in the modules/Stock_Quote folder.

Uh oh...
I uploaded that file, and now get that there is a fatal error:
Call to undefined function: sql_query() in /home/pshift/www/modules/Stock_Quote/index.php on line 224
