Whats your website worth? Find out with PageStat.com
Tool and Utilitieslink writes "Whats your website worth? Find out with PageStat.com
Ask 10 experienced webmasters about the art or science of measuring a website's presence and value and you will likely get 10 different answers. You'll hear about PageRank, Alexa Rank, Compete Rank, Search Engine Optimization, Social Networking Presence, Daily Unique Visitors, Monthly Visitors, Niches, Unique Content, and the list goes on.

Wouldn't it be nice to have a "formula" or algorithm to more "accurately" and more "consistently" measure established sites?

New Keyword Thesaurus + Dictionary Domain Names Tool
Tool and Utilitieslink writes "New Keyword Thesaurus + Dictionary Domain Names Tool

KeywordThesaurus.net has taken a database containing 2.8 Million word relations and created a super useful tool for webmasters and bloggers.

Enter in a word or phrase and the keyword thesaurus will generate up to a thousand related terms, and phrases. Its like a thesaurus on steroids.

The dictionary domain names tool uses those same principles, but also checks to see if those words are registered as domains. If you are a domainer looking for dictionary word or phrase .com or .net this is the tool for you.

Microsoft Anti-Cross Site Scripting Library V3.0 Beta
Tool and UtilitiesNB1 writes "The Microsoft Anti-Cross Site Scripting Library V3.0 (Anti-XSS V3.0) is an encoding library designed to help developers protect their ASP.NET web-based applications from XSS attacks.

It differs from most encoding libraries in that it uses the white-listing technique -- sometimes referred to as the principle of inclusions -- to provide protection against XSS attacks. This approach works by first defining a valid or allowable set of characters, and encodes anything outside this set (invalid characters or potential attacks). The white-listing approach provides several advantages over other encoding schemes. New features in this version of the Microsoft Anti-Cross Site Scripting Library include: - An expanded white list that supports more languages - Performance improvements - Performance data sheets (in the online help) - Support for Shift_JIS encoding for mobile browsers - A sample application - Security Runtime Engine (SRE) HTTP module

Nuke Debuggeer
Tool and UtilitiesGuardian2003 writes "Code Authors announce the release of their new PHP Debugger script for *nuke webmasters.
Whether you are;
* a seasoned and serious developer and want something to supplement your PHP IDE development platform/ help hone your code for efficiency
* someone who just writes a few bits of code and needs something to help debug your code or tweak it for efficiency
* or just a conscientious webmaster who wants to check new or old code for problems
Then this tool is going to be an invaluable for your *nuke toolbox. The tool displays a discreet 'Debugger' image only visible when are logged in as the site admin which when clicked opens up the full debugger for your viewing pleasure.

Backup_Restore Utility
Tool and Utilitiespapamike writes "I created a utility to backup and restore the database tables used with RavenNuke(tm).

I modified bigdump.php and included it packaged with my backup utility and created a index.php page which describes the utilities and I also added a small menu to take you to the utilities.

The backup utility will backup ALL of the database tables and email a copy of the gzip file to you for storage if your site is on the Internet. If your site is on your offline server then it will automatically include the sql file in the Backup_Restore folder.

I tested the final product on my main Internet site with excellent results. I backed up the database and restored it and my site actually ran afterwards :)

I recommend that everyone grab a free copy from my downloads area under 'My Creations' Papa Mike Creations (Membership is required) and use it to backup your database either daily or weekly.

I DO NOT recommend that you leave it on your server unless you rename the folder. I did not add a login security screen because I felt it was not needed for such a small application.

Other projects I have ongoing are:

* Captcha keyboard - this idea came my way via SouthernWolf
* phpBB3 integration
* PMC Customizable Theme - integration

live.sysinternals.com
Tool and Utilitiessouthern writes "All the sysinternals tools available with a simple click ...

I am always downloading the latest version of sysinternals tools to a computer or virtual machine. It's a little bit of a hassle to deal with the zip files - but now even that has been eliminated. When you visit http://live.sysinternals.com you can directly download or run any sysinternals tool. There's no explanator text - just a raw directory listing of the files - nice and direct!

Online CSS Scrollbar Color Changer
Tool and UtilitiesSouthern writes "Use the controls below to change the color of your HTML scrollbars for Internet Explorer.
Enter your colors in hex format, e.g. "FF0033" or click the color chip for a popup color picker.
The CSS for the scrollbars that you create is displayed automatically below. Copy it into your HTML page to easily change the scrollbars for your website.
Note: Firefox doesn't support colored scrollbars and the tool won't appear.
CSS Scrollbar
"

Note: Admin - The reason FireFox (and just about any other browser than IE) does not support messing with the scrollbar is that FireFox attempts to be 100% standards compliant. IE 5.5 (and later) support non-standard CSS properties (and other properties) to alter the appearance of scrollbars. Designers really should not touch a scrollbar's appearance as it's actually a part of the User Interface (UI) and, therefore, poses usability problems. Scrollbars are really not a part of the canvas that designers should have influence over.

It realy is a tool beyond compare.

PHP License Generator Utility
Tool and Utilitieskenetix writes "I've created a PHP license generator script. Basically a script that allows you to generate serial numbers which are bound to domain names with a user-specified expiry date. This is useful if you want to sell or release scripts with serial numbers.

This script is free, and works for any PHP script, including PHP-Nuke. You can get it from Kenetix.net. To view a demo of this tool, visit this link. You can find a collection of other website tools at this page.

Enjoy :)
