v3.5 of KISSQ has been released. This is a bug fix for the stand-alone version and a couple of internal tweaks. Since the same files are used for all versions you should download this update even if you run this as a nuke/post-nuke module. Thanks to user upennballer for finding this!

KISSQ - Raven's Stock Quote Updated
V3.4 of KISSQ has been released. This fixes the history table distortion issue when certain data was downloaded and displayed from Yahoo.
Admin Note: Another tweaking was required for the history selection date. As of 13:05 today the download has been updated. If you downloaded the update prior to 13:05, either download again or see this post for the simple tweak.

KISSQ v3.3 Released - News Format Change
It's been brought to my attention that KISSQ is no longer producing the News for stocks. Low and behold, Yahoo has changed their format for the news! Those rascals ! Anyway, this fixes the problem, for now.

KISSQ v3.2 Released
Stock Quotes v3.2 has been released. This is a bug fix and fixes all 3 known bugs. The bugs that are fixed are
LoadAtStartup was causing a JS error when run at the same time as the Module. This is fixed.
When the module was used with $index=1, the right blocks went nuts. This is fixed.
PHP version is now checked in the Module to determine how to access the data at Yahoo, because of file access changes in PHP after v4.3.0.

KISSQ (Stock Quote) v3.1 Released!
MUST DOWNLOAD
PHP 4.3.2 and future releases have modified the fread() function, or as the PHP Developers will state it, all versions of PHP prior to 4.3.1 were broken. Uh-huh. In any event, if you are using PHP 4.3.2 and KISSQ, you may have noticed, as I did, that no news was getting reported. fread() was the cuplrit. This is now fixed and 1 small bug was caught in the process.
If you downloaded KISSQ prior to 6/30/2003 12:40 hours, then redownload. The only file you have to replace is the index.php file in the modules/Stock_Quote folder.

KISSQ v3.0 Release Status
Thank you all for your many comments and e-mails concerning version 3.0 of KISSQ! The PHPNuke version is ready for release and the final Postnuke version is being tested by a few testers even as I type this. I am expecting to release version 3.0 no later than early next week. If I get the tester's approval before then, it will be released before then.

KISSQ To Be Released Soon
UPDATE 10/5/2002 Between being sick for a week and out of town on business, the programming has all but stopped :(. However, all is pretty much back to normal now and I will be getting back to the matters at hand! Should still be about 2 weeks though.I have locked down the code for the v3.0 release of KISSQ (Stock Quotes)! I am now working on the SQL code for the upgrade path, as well as some final QA testing. Not all of the wish list will make it into this release. These items DID make it into v3.0:
BLOCK - Changed Broker links to a drop down menu to conserve screen real estate.
BLOCK - Provide colored indicators for +/- indicators (red, green lights)
BLOCK - Clean up format for when market opens from showing 100% movement when any of the factors are N/A
BLOCK - Added mouse overs for Symbols to show Company name
MODULE - Allow entering the date purchased in order to allow multiple lots.
MODULE - Added setting to allow Webmaster to decide which method to use to calculate changes in daily prices.
MODULE - Added Financial news headlines.
MODULE - Allow selection of which market to get quote from. For example, to retrieve a symbol from OTCBB, Yahoo requires you to enter symbol.OB. KISSQ now only requires symbol and the user selects OTCBB and KISSQ automatically adds the .OB.
MODULE - Allow entering of more than 1 symbol at a time to add to portfolio.
MODULE - Added a HELP facility to the left of the Symbol input box. This will be expanded as time goes on.
MODULE - Miscellaneous format changes
Read on for the 3 requests that DID NOT make it into 3.0.

KISSQ v3.0 update
[Updated 9/12/2002] Thanks to all who have been instrumental in the devlopment of KISSQ application! I have received many suggestions for other types of tracking, options, currencies, etc. The focus of KISSQ is stocks and that's where I will keep the focus. To try to expand beyond that to cover all the other possibilities would just require too much time and support. Read on for a project status ....

Stock Quote Calculation
Thanks for those who voted! There seems to be a debate as to how to calculate the Change in prices and percents. There are those (I am one of them) who prefer to see the changes as the difference in daily prices, i.e. Open and close daily. Others want to see the change as change from today vs. yesterday. I'd like to hear from YOU, please. Maybe I end up offering a setting to control which way you allow on your website. Please respond to this. Thanks.
