PHP Debug Console
PHPSouthern writes "What is the Debug Console?

The Debug Console is a tool for debugging and tracing PHP5 applications on productive servers without compromising the live-traffic.

With simple PHP functions you can inspect variables, watch changes in variables over the whole run time, measure partial run times, set checkpoints and write log files. Additionally, the Debug Console replaces the PHP error handling so that notices, warnings and errors are shown in a popup too, instead of displaying them in the application to be debugged.

20 Linux System Monitoring Tools Every SysAdmin Should Know
LinuxSouthern writes "Need to monitor Linux server performance? Try these built-in command and a few add-on tools. Most Linux distributions are equipped with tons of monitoring. These tools provide metrics which can be used to get information about system activities. You can use these tools to find the possible causes of a performance problem. The commands discussed below are some of the most basic commands when it comes to system analysis and debugging server issues such as:

Finding out bottlenecks.
Disk (storage) bottlenecks.
CPU and memory bottlenecks.
Network bottlenecks.

Install Internet Explorer 7.0 in Linux with IEs 4 Linux
SoftwareSouthern writes "Linux only: You can now install Internet Explorer 7.0 in Linux with the latest beta release of IEs 4 Linux, which has made some major improvements since the last time we covered it. IEs 4 Linux now includes a graphical installer and gives you the option of installing Internet Explorer 5.0, 5.5, 6.0, 7.0 and the Flash plugins. Like the last version of IEs 4 Linux, you will need to install wine and cabextract beforehand. It took me several attempts before IEs 4 Linux was able to successfully download everything, but if you're looking to stay on the bleeding edge, IEs 4 Linux can get the job done. IEs 4 Linux is a free download for Linux only.

New cool list of Linux must-have programs
LinuxSouthern writes "It's been approximately two years since I've written the first article, A (cool) list of Linux tools. The article proved quite popular with my audience, as it allowed Linux users, new converts in particular, a quick taste of some of the more useful programs available for Linux platforms, across a range of categories.

Since, a lot has changed. Two years is a long time. I have decided to write a new article, from scratch, cataloging an up-to-date collection of must-have programs. To make it even more interesting and useful, I decided to add screen-shots wherever I can and link to tutorials explaining the use of these programs.

So, not only will you have a nice list compiled, you will also have a preview of what they look like and detailed instructions how to configure them!
