ie6 no more
Southern writes "Why?
Enough is enough. Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 was released in late 2001. For its time, it was a decent browser, but in 2009, it is still in use by a significant portion of the web population, and its time is now up.
As any web developer will tell you, working with IE 6 is one of the most difficult and frustrating things they have to deal with on a daily basis, taking up a disproportionate amount of their time. Beyond that, IE 6's support for modern web standards is very lacking, restricting what developers can create and holding the web back.
CSSTidy cleans and compresses ("formats and optimises") your cascading style sheets by eliminating comments and white space and standardizing the format. It offers multiple levels of compression - we recommend the High setting. This can result in reductions of file size by 30% or more, decreasing page load time and lowering traffic costs. It increases compatibility with modern browers and even identifies issues.
Check out CSSTidy for RavenNuke(tm) today..."

August Theme PMC-Assassins Creed
papamike writes "I have wanted to build this theme for a long time now and finally got around to doing it. PMC-Assassins_Creed is a premium quality theme that members can download for FREE.
It comes dressed up with some great graphics that follow the Assassins Creed theme. Matching forums, download and web link graphics, transparent overlay and fixed background give it a classy look.
You won't find any other place that offers premium themes designed exclusively for RavenNuke(tm). I have the largest number of themes to download and the best quality themes you will find anywhere. Each month I create a new theme just for RavenNuke(tm).
RavenNuke(tm) is the most secure CMS that I have found on the web. Help me in supporting the community."

Character Entity References in HTML 4 and XHTML 1.0
Character Entity References in HTML 4 and XHTML 1.0 Author: Elizabeth Castro
Here is a set of tables containing the 252 allowed entities in HTML 4 and XHTML 1.0, as described in section 24 of the official HTML 4 specifications, published by the W3C. I have divided them into my own, hopefully logical, categories:
Entities for characters with special meaning in HTML and XHTML
Entities for accented characters, accents, and other diacritics from Western European Languages
Entities for punctuation characters
Entities for mathematical and technical characters (including Greek)
Entities for shapes and arrows
Each table has five columns. The first column contains the entity reference, in the form &entity_name;, that is, an ampersand, the entity name, and then a semi colon. The second column displays how that entity appears in your browser. The proper character will only appear if you have a font that can display it. The third column contains the number reference for the same character in the form &#number;, that is, an ampersand, a hash symbol (which signals that a number reference is coming), the character's number, and then a semi colon. The fourth column shows how the number reference displays in your browser. Again, the proper character is only displayed if the default font selected in your browser preferences contains such a character.
The fifth column contains a description of the character, and an occasional note. You can either hover over the note link to see the note, or click it to go the notes page, which will open in a separate window.
There are many ways to order character entities. You can order them alphabetically, by number, or by Unicode collection, to mention just a few methods. I find all of these rather arbitrary. So, I have taken the liberty of classifying them into what I consider logical categories, and sometimes subcategories, and then by alphabetical order. I hope you find it useful. And don't forget, you can always use your browser's Find command to find a particular word or phrase within this page.
What can small companies and start-ups without huge audience numbers do to earn money from their Web sites? At the Revenue Bootcamp Conference in Mountain View, Calif., panelists discuss pay-per-click ads, and why they might not be the best model for small companies. Rather, they say, finding a single sponsor or targeting a more specific audience could be a better strategy. Panelists include: Neil Chase, vice president of Author Services at Federated Media; Samir Arora, chairman and CEO of Glam Media; and David Kopp, senior director of North American ads at Yahoo. Moderator: Bill Reichert, managing director of Garage Technology Ventures.
