Also to add to this, a simple MD5 hash brute force attack will crack the '6vb6wyy' before it ever cracks <.&*^%$$#>.

Most dictionary or brute force attack only use the standard character sets a-zA-Z0-9 hence the more secure 'fancy' password are safer in that sence and will never be cracked via brute force.

Which is why I wanted to use one. There's no use in having all this IP banning and Sentinel nonsense if your password is lame!

Like I said, there are only very few characters that you need to shy away from. That still leaves alot of "special characters" that you can use to harden your passwords.
